MURDER MYSTERY EVENING - 2007
This was held on Friday June 16th - friends and members of the club spent the evening in a variety of improbable costumes spent the evening trying to establish who murdered the Baroness Audry von Munchen whilst 'tricking the others out of their imaginary money. The evenings machinations were also filmed for later editing and the denoument in true Hercule Poirot fashion involved a series of shocking and unlikely relevations before the murderer was revealed.A collection was held for local charity - the Jack Brown fund - http://www.jackbrownappeal.org. and as a result FCS will be donating £100.

Chairman's Review

Members of our society had been working on this show for about six months, and everybody pitched in, whether technical or tea-making. We had planned to show nine films, but a few days before the show Ian Morris produced a film which he had made in New Orleans shortly before the great flood, and in view of its topicality we included this.

The films shown included two gold star winners made by Michael Slowe which were Pelicans of Guana and On Silk, two films made by comparative novices, including our youngest member Vincent Tempest, two club production story films and some travellers' tales.

It was wonderful to be able to fill up a whole evening with club films which were worthy of public showing, and hopefully this will encourage our members to get out with their camcorders and produce some new films. In particular we have the forthcoming second script competition which should result in a good club film being made. The first script competition resulted in the making of Hubert's Travels, which has been well-received and is winning awards.

Our grateful thanks to all who contributed and attended for making this such a successful evening.

Local resident Rick Limentani was the winner of the first competiton in 2003 with a script called Hubert's Travels. His winning script was filmed by FCS during 2004 and the completed film was premiered at the Phoenix Cinema in December 2004.

The Premiere of Hubert was covered by FCS Photographer John Cronin .......

The Phoenix Cinema in East Finchley was packed for the Premiere of Hubert

Front of House found Hubert in the best company!

Producer Trevor Williams and Director Mike Slowe were joined on stage by two of the stars of the film...

...and of course we could not keep our star away either
